Where do I fit? The Immigrant Experience of Intersectionality – Faith, Race and Ethnicity in America

January 23, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Suzie Sang and Pradeep Nair

How do Immigrants experience America? When we talk about immigration, the question is usually around whether a person is ‘legal’ or ‘illegal’. But what about the other issues or situations immigrants face when they choose to make America their home? What happens when you discover you are Black for the first time? What about comments about how ‘well’ you speak English? Are our experiences of racism and/or discrimination the same as American born people of color? What does it mean to follow Jesus as an immigrant? Come join us for an insightful (and maybe hilarious) conversation about the intersectional life of an immigrant.

This session is open to anyone interested in hearing about and participating in a deeper exploration about what life is like as an immigrant in America.
