Emotional and Spiritual Support

Life is full of change, challenges, and transitions. New Community’s Care Minister, Tim White, is available for emotional and spiritual support as you navigate some of life’s highs and lows. This includes experiencing grief or illness, transitioning into parenthood, seeking premarital counseling, or dealing with marital/relational challenges.  Tim is available to meet with you one-on-one for listening and prayer support.

Counseling Partnerships

NewCom is currently partnering with two organizations that offer professional counseling services.

Cornerstone Counseling Center of Chicago

Cornerstone is made up of a wide network of trained therapists of diverse backgrounds and expertise who offer virtual and in-person meetings.  Cornerstone also has its own financial assistance program that clients can access if they qualify. To start meeting with a counselor at Cornerstone, please call the number listed above to begin their intake process.

Blessing Fund

The Blessing Fund provides material and financial assistance to individuals and families experiencing difficulties and hardships, particularly those of an economic nature. It is designed to respond to the financial/resource needs of our congregation and those who have a connection with someone in our congregation and serves as an extension of our love and care for the well-being of others as an expression of care by New Community in a tangible manner. This fund covers basic needs such as rent, food, and basic utilities.

Meals Ministry

The Meals Ministry organizes meal trains for people who are experiencing moments of significant transition or challenge within their household such as medical procedures, welcoming new life, or mourning a loss.  Meals can be offered in the form of homemade food, restaurant gift cards, or ordering a meal delivered to the recipient’s house.

If you are in need of a meal train, would like to recommend someone for a meal train, or you are interested in contributing to meal trains for others, please email the Meals Ministry at Meals@thenewcom.com

Parking

We have reserved parking on W. Logan Blvd, designated with orange cones between N. Francisco Ave. and Sacramento Ave. Parking is also available on W. Schubert Ave., Sacramento Ave. and W. Diversey Ave. within approximately 2 blocks of our church.
