Race in America by Michael Emerson

Dr. Michael Emerson, Professor and Department Head of Sociology at the University of Illinois at Chicago and member of NewCom, is one of the nation’s leading experts on race and religion. In this accessible talk, he will speak from a Christian perspective on one the nation’s most vexing issues. Communicating in terms we can all understand, he will break down how race works, what it costs, and how we can move forward together to realize Christ’s call.
For those of you who are engaging with friends and family members who have not typically engaged in conversations around race and racism, this is an opportunity to watch this together with them and engage a follow-up conversation.
