Lament Service
October 24 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
“In the Old Testament world, laments were a way of speaking to God out of the covenant relationship. A lament affirms faith, while acknowledging what is painful, real, and disappointing. A lament is an act of trust that God accepts us as we really are and receives our expressions of emotion.” — Covenant Book of Prayer
Join us on Friday, October 24th, from 7:00–8:30 PM for a special Lament Service. This will be a safe, welcoming space for our church community to come together and engage in the biblical practice of lament—for the brokenness in our lives, our nation, and our world. Through liturgies, worship, guided reflection, and sharing, we will name our sorrows while anchoring ourselves in the hope we have in the Lord. Come as you are. Bring your grief, your questions, your prayers, and your longing for healing. Let’s walk this path of lament and hope together.
This service will not be live-streamed or recorded, and there will be no separate children or youth programming during this service.
