Kid City is a multi-ethnic & intergenerational discipleship community that seeks to reflect God’s Kingdom by encountering Jesus, learning about the Gospel, cultivating a sense of belonging, and experiencing God’s heart for justice and reconciliation in our world.
Children join their families in the sanctuary at the start of service and are dismissed after the worship set for Kid City. Parents are welcome to walk their children up to the Kid City classroom during dismissal.
Our very own Adam Gin will be taking on a new role as New Com intern through May. We asked Adam a few questions so you can get to know him better:
Adam, what will you be doing at New Com during the internship?
I will be working with Mosaic youth. I’ll be a part of mentoring the students as well as leading the confirmation classes. I will also be working with Pastor X and doing sermon prep/ research assistance.
What are you most excited about as you serve in this role?
I’m overall excited about what God will be doing during this season. I’m excited for the partnership and the formation this internship will bring.
What’s something people may not know about you?
People don’t know that I was a dancer growing up. I was in a ballet school for 10 years, and in high school, I did jazz and contemporary, and also had limited experiences in hip hop and tap. I stopped dancing when I went off to college/ Chicago, but I might be able to do a pirouette these days.
What is a favorite fall weather activity of yours?
Fall is an exciting season to live on a college campus. There’s a buzz because of the start of a new year, the trees on campus turn to beautiful fall colors, and going to North Park soccer games is always a good time. If I’m not on campus, you can find me and my wife, Acacia, enjoying new coffee shops and looking for a new cornfield maze to try.
Anything else you think people should know?
I really appreciate this community and am excited to serve you all in this way.
