Know Your Rights Training
April 19 @ 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm
The New Community Engagement team has prepared a very practical way for our congregation to advocate for our neighbors directly impacted by ICE/DHS. Please save the date for April 19th, as a member from the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights (ICIRR) will be leading us in an in-person Know Your Rights (KYR) training after service 12:30-2pm. This meeting will take place in the fellowship hall and is also open to the Public. In the meantime, and for your future reference, here are someĀ extra resources for responding to ICE, and opportunities to advocate for those most directly impacted. The KYR training will serve as a necessary pre-requisite for a future rapid response training (RRT) that our congregation hopes to host as well, for those that wish to go further and serve in this way. Registration is required and a light lunch will be provided.
