The Table

The Table is a free private social network, just for our church, that enables us to connect 24/7, not just on Sunday. It’s a place where we can continue to live out what it means to be the Body of Christ. Prayer, service, and community are important aspects of building up the body and this social network gives us another way to live it out.

How do I join?

You can sign up for the Table at nc3.tableproject.org

What’s next?

Now that you’re on the Table, here are a couple easy things you can do to get started:

1. Upload your own profile picture and fill out your profile with your interests, gifts and skills. This will help connect you with others at New Community

2. Go to the ‘Prayer Wall’ and pray for a few of the prayer requests. When you click ‘pray now’ the person can be notified that you prayed for them—instant encouragement!

3. Browse ‘Groups’ and join a few that align with your interests. If you don’t see a group for your ministry or interest, go ahead and start one.

What are some ways you can use The Table?

1. Prayer Requests and Praises- Share and post praises and prayer requests and see how the Church body comes around you to pray for you or celebrate with you!

2. Needs (Post under “Serve)- Have needs that the Church family can help you with?

  • a. Volunteer Opportunities?
  • b. Housing/Roommates needs?
  • c. Household needs?
  • d. Other practical needs?

3. Discussion/Thoughts (Post under “Discussion)

  • a. Is there an article you read that you want a discussion about?
  • b. Do you blog and want to share a post you wrote to the larger church body?
  • c. Birth Announcements
  • d. Is your company hiring?
  • e. Do you have moving boxes you want to give away?
  • f. Do you have a car or other items you are selling?

4. Get access to NC3 Logan Square Podcast

5. Opportunity to continue to bridge connections with our sister church Bronzeville

  • a. Both Bronzeville and Logan Square can share and post needs/opportunities/etc so that either church can help out one another

6. Pictures

  • a. Post pictures of events that happened at NC3
  • b. Pictures of new births in our Church family

7. Communication of Events (Post under “Discussion”)

  • a. Are you in a band or an art exhibit and want to invite people?
  • b. Are you going to a Chicago festival and inviting people?
  • c. Camping trips? Parties? Events?

8. Picture Directory (Browse under “People”)

  • a. Need to know what someone looks like?
  • b. Look up contact information?

9. Groups Usage

  • a. Create groups of interest for support/connections/and more
  • b. Ex. Runner and looking for other runners join/create a runners group
    • 1. Send emails/share articles
    • 2. Find running buddies for races
    • 3. Saturday running- send a note out to see if anyone wants to join
  • c. New Moms
    • 1. Need advice-post in discussions?
    • 2. Have a prayer request?
    • 3. Picnic in the park and want to invite other moms?
    • 4. Needs/Give Away- baby toys, clothes, etc
  • d. Athletics
    • 1. Looking to put together a volleyball team- post in discussions
    • 2. Pick up game of ultimate?
    • 3. Sporting events?
    • 4. Monday night basketball?
  • e. NC3 Showcase
    • 1. Want to now when talented people at NC3 are in shows, concerts have a
      showcase, etc?
    • 2. Artists can post shows/performances/etc
