New Community Covenant Church is a church in Chicago’s Bronzeville community. We are an intentionally multi-ethnic, multi-racial, multi-cultural church for the sake of the Gospel. Below you will find out more about our church.
Mission, Identity, and Values
Our mission drives our ministries: We seek to be a city within a city (Mathew 5:14-16) that passionately loves Jesus Christ, intentionally engages in authentic community and radically advances the cause of Jesus.
Our identity is the catalyst for mission. We are a reconciled and reconciling people (2 Corinthians 5:18).
Our values shape our identity: Through God’s mercy we are becoming people who love…
- Grace and Truth (John 1:14): We desire regular confession, repentance, and forgiveness with God and one another. We desire the Gospel to transform our lives as we follow Jesus wholeheartedly. We desire to listen and submit to the Scripture, God’s revealed Word for His beloved children.
- Unity (Ephesians 2:14-18): We desire to represent the diversity of our city as evidence of the Gospel’s reconciling power. We desire authentic and accountable fellowship. We desire the corporate gift of Sabbath worship and rest.
- The Kingdom (Luke 9:1-2): We desire to proclaim the Kingdom – evangelism, to demonstrate the Kingdom- compassion, mercy, and justice, and to participate in the Kingdom through prayer. We desire to welcome the stranger with radical hospitality. We desire to be intentionally present to our neighborhood as we discern the Holy Spirit’s invitation to love our neighbors.
