Founded in 2001 by Pastor Peter Hong and a small group of believers, New Community Covenant Church is today a vibrant and growing urban, multiethnic church located just a block off of the historic Logan Boulevard in the Logan Square neighborhood of Chicago. In the founding and development of the church, Pastor Peter and the first members asked some key questions that continue to form us:
We want people to know that God’s desire for them is not to embrace religion, but to embrace intimate communion with Christ and with others. We believe God made us to be in a loving community, encouraging each other, and serving our neighbors.
Made up of peoples from an array of racial, ethnic and cultural backgrounds, we seek to faithfully celebrate the diversity in the body of Christ. We also know that sin is at work in the world and we denounce systemic and individual sin as we imperfectly, but actively work to be justice-seekers and radically advance the cause of Jesus. That is the Gospel call.
We have reserved parking on W. Logan Blvd, designated with orange cones between N. Francisco Ave. and Sacramento Ave. Parking is also available on W. Schubert Ave., Sacramento Ave. and W. Diversey Ave. within approximately 2 blocks of our church.
